Comedian Bill Hicks’s final performance on Late Night with David Letterman in October of 1993, which was cut from the final broadcast because Letterman’s producers deemed it too controversial. Ironically, four months earlier Hicks had penned an extraordinary letter on censorship and what freedom of speech really means.
The book Hicks mentions, Heather Has Two Mommies, is indeed a gem.
